This is also a great opportunity to bid for those of you who can not attend the Ball. Please check in daily to see if the bids have raised. This is not set up like ebay, so we have to manually update the page. The last day to place your bids (with max bid amount to be used at the gala) is February 10th. If you are attending the Ball, your pre-bid will join you there to compete with the live crowd. If you are not attending, your bid up to your max bid will be done by a proxy bidder at the Ball and again to compete with the live crowd. You will be contacted after the Ball if you have won the bid. At that time you will pay for your purchase. Good luck everyone!

Pre-School and Pre-K Art Projects - "Fingerprint Art"
ART LEADERS:
Ed Emberley is best known for his children's books and his belief that everyone can create art. Each class from the Early Education Building has explored the use of his techniques to create a 16-inch square serving platter. Fingerprints from every student transformed into garden plants and creatures adorn the charming pieces created by the three-year-olds and four-year-olds. An ICS Festival theme with an adorable fingerprint Ferris wheel decorates the Pre-K platter.

First Grade Art Project - "It's A Grande Old Flag"
ART LEADERS: Ray Schiano
One thing that is apparent to anyone who encounters the first graders at ICS is the talent and potential of each of the children. Every student in the class is a rising start, so it is only fitting that each child signed his or her name on a star to adorn this traditional, shaker-style, slat back bench. The patriotic replica of the United States flag on the bench includes one star for each of the 49 first graders, with the 50th star representing ICS. Handcrafted by ICS parent Ray Schiano, this whimsical bench is intended for indoor use and would be a perfect addition to a playroom or entryway.

Mark this passage of time in your garden with these four colorful flags decorated with visions of winter, spring, summer, and fall. The third graders could not come to a consensus which season is their favorite, but they did a spectacular job demonstrating the best of each season on these creative and fun garden flags. The beautiful flags artfully display that to everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.

Fourth Grade Art Project - "Bliss"
ART LEADERS: Cathleen Ashby, Coleen Donaher, & Francine Mazzei
English novelist and poet Emily Bronte once wrote, "Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree." This blissful feeling is clearly captured and illustrated by the striking artwork of the fourth grade class. Each fourth grader contributed at least one leaf to the autumn tree that was hand painted in acrylics on canvas by ICS parent Colleen Donaher. The rich reds, yellows, oranges, and greens on this 27 inch by 30 inch framed piece would compliment almost any decor, and would make a stunning addition to your home or office.

Fifth Grade Art Project - "The Clinton Red Mill Birdhouse"
ART LEADERS: Linda Okupski
Perhaps no symbol of heavenly Hunterdon County is more recognizable that the famous Red Mill in the town of Clinton. As such, the ICS fifth graders created this one-of-a-kind birdhouse in the shape of the landmark Red Mill. The students took great care in painting the birdhouse and custom designing the tiles to replicate the Raritan River and the cobblestone sides of the mill. Each tile was hand painted and fired to prepare the birdhouse for exposure to the elements. The student artists signed the mounting post so the lucky winner can see all who were involved in creating the great keepsake! Please note that the mounting post will need to be secured 4 feet underground (similar to a mailbox post) to ensure a sturdy installation.

Sixth Grade Art Project - "The Awesome Sixth Grade Bench"
ART LEADERS: Lisa Uchrin
The always enthusiastic and creative 6th graders at ICS came up with their own theme for this years art project: The Awesome Sixth Grade. Each student created a personal logo design to represent his or her personal interest and transferred that design onto the solid wood mud bench. Parents of the sixth graders subsequently hand burned their designs into the grain of the wood bench. The 36"L x 12"W x 17"H bench has been meticulously stained and coated in polyurethane so it is appropriate for either indoor or outdoor use.

Seventh Grade Art Project - "Mary's Winter Garden"
ART LEADERS: Joann Cella & Michelle Lazarczyk
Pablo Picasso once said, "Painting is a blind man's profession, he paints not what he sees but what he feels, what he tells himself about what he has seen." Based on Picasso's quote, the 7th grade students gathered in the Mary Garden and painted not a winter garden, but a summer garden filled with all the colors of the season. Wearing coats and without a flower to be found, we let our imagination take over and painted a glorious garden in full bloom.

Eighth Grade Art Project - "Family, Faith, & Friends, 2012"
ART LEADERS: Renee Ciszewski & Leslie Finnegan
For their art project, the class of 2012 chose a beautiful digital photograph of Immaculate Conception School mounted onto a 12"W x 12"L x 1.5"D canvas including the class quote. This piece is a true representation of the Class of 2012. ICS is where many of the students have spent their days for the past 9 years. They have grown from children to wonderful young men and women, learning not only academics, but also growing in faith and developing life-long friendships. As they embark on high school, the selection of this piece is a view of where they have started, and the class quote is a reflection on what they will take with them to their new challenges. The lucky winner also receives the opportunity to have an additional photo of his or her choice transferred onto canvas. Services of a photographer are included if you wish!
Sorry for the delay, we are waiting for the photo of the 8th grade art project please
check back this weekend.
